Woman Life Freedom Graffiti

The graffiti slogan “Khamenei! People are eager to shed your blood. Run away.” is a highly charged and confrontational political message from the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising in Iran (2022–2023). It reflects intense anger toward state authority and the country’s leadership during a period of widespread protest and repression.

It is directed at Ali Khamenei, who served as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a position that holds ultimate authority over the state’s political, military, and judicial systems. Under his leadership, Iran’s political structure is often described as a theocratic system in which elected institutions exist alongside, but are ultimately overseen by, unelected religious authority. The slogan therefore reflects not only personal opposition, but also broader dissent against the system of governance he represents.
