Library of Civil Disobedience IM BISS
The Politics of Poetry
A cooperation between the Basis Kultur projects- Library of Civil Disobedience and No.Mad*Innen Wiens:
IM BISS
On the edges and in the heart of the city, snack stands (Imbiss-Buden) welcome people from all walks of life — vibrant, multilingual spaces where everyday talk blends with political debate.
They are sociotopes of pause and presence, where overworked and overlooked voices briefly come together.
IM BISS enters these spaces with music, turning local rhythms and street slogans into songs of resistance and joy.
For the Library of Civil Disobedience, this collaboration is a way to amplify unheard voices and reflect the space between law and justice.
It’s the poetry of shared experience — across languages, backgrounds, and realities.
As if democracy had been born beside a snack stand: a little sweet, a little spicy.
